Saw his TV show

Comments:
A great and old family tradition at the Matchinsky house is to spend Thanksgiving evening watching Christmas Story. We laugh each time as if it was the first time we saw it. This time we had about 15 of us crowded into the family room. Fire in the fireplace, plenty of desserts, wine, and drinks to go around, and once more ...with feeling.

Am also an old fan of Best 4th of July, and the railroad series.

Thanks Shep. You are a part of our family and we have become a part of yours. We may be forgotten in 4000 years, but story telling won't.

Just think--he got laughs without four letter words. Are any of his movies available for purchase?

Read one of his books

Comments:
As a child we always said "In God we trust-all others pay cash"We must have picked it up from some fan of Shep and at age 55 I ordered the book with that title from a used bookstore -it finally arrived 2 1/2 years later and I am reading it at work.He captures the feel of the fifties and jogs the old memory-little things I'd forgotten-like root beer barrels candy.Rest in Peace Shep

My most prized possession as a boy was my cigarette pack sized Sony radio I received as a gift around 1960. A then ten year old I found Shep through an accident of the air waves. Hooked, I would tuck my radio under my pillow and carefully adjust the volume to ensure no one would be aware of my late night listening addiction and spent most my youth listening clandestinely to Shep. I never shared this with my sisters or parents but gained true and profound insights from Shep and was delighted to have this wonderful adult friend in my life. I am delighted that the shows have been preserved and will listen again. My 11 year old daughter and 12 year old son delight in Shep's Christmas Story. With some encouragement I imagine they may fall asleep to Shep a la ipod. Not quite the same level of excitement as their parent will know... but Shep's timeless tales no doubt will delight them. J. I listened to Shep every night in the early 1960s, then lost track of him when I left NJ for college in 1963. I'm now catching up, thanks to your great website. Thanks for all the effort!
