The program included two of the more provocative current jazz groups, the Charles Mingus Jazz Workshop and the Jazz Modes, as well as a singer, Anita O'Day. The program also included Don Elliot's Quartet, Sonny Rollin's Trio, saxaphonist Zoot Sims and trumpeter Chet Baker.
